I love public holidays but when it comes to National Day, that's not the case. The roads become congested and certain routes become inaccessible. Then the trains become jam-packed and we'll all never reach to wherever we wanna be on time. :S The cycle I dread every 9th of August.
Sigh.
Tuesday was fab minusing the encounter I had with my brother's car. A poor bugger stranger had to spare me a full 4 minutes so that I can park the car parallely which I ended up failing badly. My kama sutra of driving revolves around 3 things : forwarding, right and left Never reversing. :S Good thing my hands were off the steering right after that when my brother took charge.
I met Yadz at about 5pm and we headed down to Bugis for dinner. No need for clues, dinner was at Tong Seng. :) Decided to pay Orchard a visit after that where we galavanted for 2 hours doing sole-searching. Picky me eventually left town without a pair of shoes because every other pair was either too small or too big or something's just not right, not that I was trying to find fault with each pair. :S
Putting that aside, let's roll the happier times...
We were both not as energised today but tried our best to keep our spirits up. Finally left town for Raffles City at 7 plus where we decided to take a breather at...
Gloria Jeans
I had my regular dose of Hot White Chocolate...
while Yadz had himself a slice of Mud Cake since the Tuxedo Cake wasn't available. He felt that it was rather rich for him but I think it's delish! Highly recommended for chocolate fanatics. :D
Savouring my first bite. :)
The first thing I'd always do when I reach Gloria Jeans is to find for vacant couch seats. And each time I do so, I'd end up with a frown because those seats are always taken up. :S Oh why. Anyhow, we spent our visit there planning for the rest of the week. 'Armed' with my camera, Yadz took the pitchass below.
He get the kicks each time he catches me offguard,
during my boo-boo moments and...
when I'm not looking. :P
Perked up after snacking, we did our rounds whilst waiting for my sister to pick us up. Ended up at Aldo where I got myself satin headbands. Not a big fan of Aldo but there's a sale going on. I got 2 pairs of colored satins for the price of one. :D Worth checking out Aldo, for this period at least.
Soon after that, my sister picked us up and we left for my granny's place where a mini-celebration was held for my girl cousin who just turned 5.
The Karaoke Set Yadz and I got her was indeed a perfect gift. :D Happy that she's happy.
Then the kids got fascinated when I showed them the funny-looking spectacles. One by one, each of them waited in anticipation for their turn to try them on.
Yadz and myself had a good time lol-ing at each other when it was our turn to try. Hilarious. I still think that the bushy eyebrows look better on guys though. :P Then it was time to cut the cake and sing Happy Birthday. :D
Don't we all just adore Disney Princesses once upon a time. :)
Dinner was served as well. A wide spread of dishes, from curry to pizza to satay. :) Was a pity that I came over with a filled tummy.
Galorrre
It's time to meet...
My mum who looks dashing for her age. She 's 54 by the way!
My ever so crazy sister. Young at heart and at times mischevious, we both spell double trouble! :D
The least I could do if I couldn't join them for dinner was to sit and engage in their conversations.
We were supposed to share that but a bite was enough for me and so he..
tried his best to finish up both although he was filled to brim. Hee.
Happy Birthday to the adorable one. :D
Been a long tiring day for us both but deftly a blossoming one. :)
